UNICEF Honduras and Agua Pura para el Mundo (APPM) hosted a site visit for KOICA donors. The visit took place in the community of El Olingo, Danlí, El Paraíso. Donors observed a hands-on workshop on climate-resilient Water Security Plans with community stakeholders. They also visited the local school where upcoming WASH and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) interventions will be implemented. APPM is actively participating in the project’s first phase (2025–2026). This phase will be implemented across 7 municipalities. It will engage 17 communities and schools in the departments of Francisco Morazán and El Paraíso. The second phase (2027–2028) will expand to Intibucá and Lempira. More than 80 communities will benefit through coordination with Asociación de Mancomunidades de Honduras (AMHON) [JG1] .
This joint effort reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Honduras and its international cooperation partners. They aim to guarantee inclusive, fair, and safe education. This is a fundamental pillar for sustainable development and poverty reduction in the country.
