Community leaders practiced water treatment , disinfection and safe water storage techniques and learned how to improve hygiene behaviors using locally available materials. A key part of the training was focused on the multi-barrier approach — a method that emphasizes protecting water at every stage: from the source, during transportation, through treatment, storage, and point-of-use. APPM taught how multiple barriers of protection reduce contamination risk and ensure safer water for families.

Following the training, APPM delivered hygiene and water disinfection supplies
To reinforce the training, APPM distributed water disinfectants and hygiene products donated by UNICEF Honduras to families in both communities. Providing both education and essential supplies ensured that households could immediately apply what they learned.
