Urgent WASH Needs in Las Parcelas, Honduras: A Call to Action

The community of Parcelas in Jamastran , Honduras, is facing a serious water and sanitation crisis. With 33 families and over 117 residents, access to safe water it is not safe to drink. Seventeen homes lack toilet facilities, forcing families to live without basic sanitation.

At Las Parcelas, the situation is equally alarming. With 13 students, one teacher, the school has no access to safe water, no functioning toilets, and no place to wash hands or manage menstruation, putting children—especially girls—at serious health and education risks.

Agua Pura Para el Mundo (APPM) is launching a comprehensive WASH intervention to transform conditions in both homes and the school. The project includes:

  • Rainwater harvesting systems
  • Water analysis
  • Point-of-use water filters
  • Construction of bathroom facilities with handwashing and cleaning stations
  • WASH training for teachers, students, and community members
  • Community engagement and long-term monitoring to ensure sustainability

Our goal is to provide reliable access to clean water and sanitation, while empowering the community with the knowledge and tools to maintain healthy hygiene practices long-term.

But we cannot do it alone. Your support can help ensure that children and families in Las Parcelas no longer suffer from preventable diseases due to lack of basic services, we want to raise $20,000.00. Together, we can bring lasting health, dignity, and hope to this underserved community.
