Working Together to Strengthen Rural Water Services in Honduras

Last month, Agua Pura Para el Mundo (APPM) joined forces with the Global Water Center and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to host an impactful event dedicated to advancing the professionalization of rural water services in Honduras.

The event brought together representatives from 25 organizations, including:

  • SANAA (National Water and Sewerage Service)
  • ERSAPS (Regulatory Agency for Water and Sanitation Services)
  • CONEANFO (National Commission for Non-Formal Education)
  • Ministry of Health
  • AHJASA (Association of Community Water Boards)
  • AHMON (Association of Honduran Municipalities)
  • UNICEF
  • NGOs, both local and international
  • Academic institutions
  • Community water boards

This collaboration served as a powerful example of what’s possible when organizations come together with a common goal: to strengthen the skills and systems behind rural water supply.

With support from IDB and Global Water Center, and in coordination with national and local stakeholders, we are proud to be taking meaningful steps toward building a more professional, capable rural water sector across Honduras.
